This is a role is for a Social Work England registered and qualified Social Worker who will lead on the Access to records, Non recent abuse and Managing allegations aspects of the Safeguarding and Quality Practice teams work.  You will also hold registered manager status with Ofsted and be a subject expert for the team in the areas which fall within your remit.

The Children’s Societies support work to adopted adults provides, sensitively managed, legally compliant access to records for adults who were placed for adoption when the organisation operated as the placing agency. This includes Schedule 2 birth records counselling, access to information, and access to records.  The work also includes responding to any requests for information (s.98 of the Adoption and Children Act, 2002) and access to records from Local Authorities or Other Agencies on behalf of adopted adults.

As a subject expert the post holder will lead this work in addition to supporting the progression of the quality agenda across The Children’s Society’s youth practice teams, including our national programmes.

Senior Safeguarding and Quality Practice Manager – Working closely with external partners the postholder will ensure effective partnership responses.

Internally, you will work closely with all Domains across The Children’s Society to ensure high quality practice and safeguarding of children, young people and vulnerable adults is adequately considered in all aspects of the work The Children’s Society engages in.
