The Hampton School Trust has a team of Counsellors supporting pupils and members of staff. The counselling provides support to both pupils (at Hampton School and Hampton Pre-Prep and Prep) and staff. This support takes place through 1-1 sessions throughout the School day; it may involve assessment of needs, treatment and provision of supportive services where necessary, including on occasions referral to specialist agencies, CAMHS, GPs or hospitals.
School Counsellors work collaboratively with the Deputy Head, Designated Safeguarding Lead, Deputy Designated Safeguarding Leads, the School Nurses and other members of the pastoral staff such as Heads of Year and Form Tutors. Group interventions, involving a number of pupils or staff may be considered where necessary.
School Counsellors will be committed to promoting the safeguarding, pastoral care and welfare of boys in the School (incorporating Hampton School and Hampton Pre-Prep and Prep School.
The post holder is expected to be confidential both within an existing professional code of ethics and the School’s own policies, contract and conduct of behaviour. The candidate must have a Diploma or Degree in Counselling, or equivalent, and must have regular supervision.
