Safeguarding Practitioner Vulnerable People

An exciting opportunity has arisen to work within NHS Northumberland Clinical Commissioning Group (CCG) Safeguarding Team as Safeguarding Practitioner Vulnerable People. We are looking for a committed and enthusiastic person, with high degree of autonomy and decision making to be embedded in to a dynamic and supportive team.

The successful candidate should have extensive knowledge across all aspects of safeguarding vulnerable people including children, young people and adults. The post holder will either be a Registered nurse NMC part 1 or a Registered professional with NMC/HCPC/SWE.

The post holder will be expected to regularly contribute to and attend multi-agency meetings including MARAC, MAPPA, PREVENT and have opportunities to work alongside the safeguarding specialists within the team as well as working closely with the CCG’s complex care team.

The CCG is responsible for the planning and purchasing of Northumberland’s healthcare. It is a GP-led organisation and all 38 practices within Northumberland are members of the CCG serving a population of more than 300,000 patients. The CCG also commissions a wide range of health services across the county including acute and mental health Trusts and other providers including care homes. As such, the successful applicant, along with the other members of the safeguarding and complex care teams, will take a lead on behalf of the CCG in ensuring vulnerable people of all ages are protected from abuse and neglect.
