Safeguarding Officer – Edinburgh x 2

SafeGuarding is a key element of SafeGuarding Services.

This Service encompasses emergency incident planning and management across all of the University’s sites in the UK, Dubai and

Malaysia.

 

Main Purpose of Role:

To provide an effective SafeGuarding Service which protects the University’s population, assets and reputation whilst underpinning its values and supporting its strategic objectives. We are also pivotal

in delivering a strong care and support service to the University.

SafeGuarding Services operates 365 days a year and 24 hours a day and our SafeGuarding Officers are the first responders to any security and emergency incidents occurring on campus.

SafeGuarding Officers must be very approachable and always welcome direct contact with the various elements of our University community.

SafeGuarding Services also manage the campus roadways, car parking and lost/found property.

The position is based at Edinburgh.

This role involves a stable rotational working pattern, encompassing 12 hour shifts, on a 4 on/4 off rotational basis which does include weekend working. Overtime opportunities are available.

A PVG membership for Children and Protected Adults will be required for this role. If you already hold PVG membership the University will require to register their interest in your existing membership. If you do not hold PVG membership the University will register you in the scheme.

This role does not meet the minimum requirements set by UKVI to enable sponsorship of migrant workers. Therefore we cannot progress applications from candidates who require sponsorship to work in the UK.
