About the role:

They are looking for two enthusiastic and committed Safeguarding Officers to join the team working at our North Star Campus.

The purpose of this role is to act as the first point of contact for safeguarding concerns in order to take action and signpost as appropriate. With a high level of support focus around mental health issues and prevention support, you will provide effective support for individual learners who have a wide range of needs to support progress.

In this role, you will:

Maintain and ensure records on MyConcern are updated and support the Safeguarding Manager and Safeguarding Coordinator with the overall management of cases on the system.

Communicate with outside agencies to make referrals typically to the local Multi Agency Safeguarding Hubs (MASH).

Provide advice and guidance to staff on student support interventions and joint strategies.

Qualification and experience required:

  • Hold at least a level 3 Safeguarding Qualification
  • Minimum Level 2 qualification in English and mathematics. If not held, you will be required to gain these within an agreed timeframe
  • Level 2 ICT qualification or equivalent or MOS unit. If not held, you will be required to gain this within an agreed timeframe
  • At least 3 years working in a related field such as youth work, social services, counselling, youth justice
