Safeguarding Officer

Location: Huddersfield

Salary: £26,421 – £28,100 per annum pro rata to working hours

Hours: 37 hours per week. 40 weeks per year

Closing date: Friday 5 November, midday

 

Kirklees College is a large successful FE college, currently Ofsted graded as Good. Operating across Kirklees with centres based in Huddersfield and Dewsbury.

The successful candidate will have the opportunity to work within a modern building, with excellent on site facilities, such as a fully equipped gym, hair & beauty salons and fine d restaurant.

We have an exciting opportunity to join the Safeguarding and Inclusion team and are looking for dynamic and enthusiastic colleagues who will make a positive and productive contribution to ensure a successful student experience.

Safeguarding Officers will ensure that all learners and staff are appropriately safeguarded. They will promote a joined-up approach to safeguarding issues across campuses, ens that risks are identified and managed and acting as a central point of contact with statutory agencies and voluntary agencies to ensure that learners and staff are fully safeguarded.

You will need previous experience in working with young people providing welfare support and dealing with safeguarding issues.

The qualifications deemed essential for the post are a minimum of a Level 2 qualification in literacy and numeracy (e.g. GCSE English and Maths at grade A*-C), minimum Level Safeguarding qualification or appropriate current training.
