About the role

  • West Northants Safeguarding in Education Service are looking for an experienced Education Safeguarding Team Manager to work full time based from One Angel Square, Northampton

The position is based at One Angel Square Northampton, however, the applicant may be expected to work at external sites, some homeworking may be available.

This role will cover the West Northants area.

What will you be doing?

  • Provide high quality safeguarding advice and support
  • Foster great professional relationships across schools and social care and other agencies
  • Gather and present complex information to both individuals and groups in a way they will understand
  • Follow procedures and practice while working independently
  • Deliver targeted safeguarding training to Designated Safeguarding Leads (DSLs), school staff and other multi agency colleagues
  • Represent the service at multi agency meetings
  • Prepare comprehensive reports for diverse audiences
  • Work with partners / other services to address a range of safeguarding related issues through conferences and network meetings e.g. neglect and child exploitation, in order to reduce the issues that lead to increased safeguarding concerns.

 

 

About you

It would be helpful if you have:

  • Degree or equivalent in Social Work/Teaching Qualification
  • You will be an experienced social worker, teacher or person with a similar relevant degree/professional qualification who has a strong background in schools, education or children’s social care.
  • You will have a detailed knowledge of working with schools and education colleagues as well as the interface between education and social care professionals. Some of your key skills will lie in developing great partnership relationships.
  • You will have extensive knowledge and experience of safeguarding children.
