We are seeking an experienced safeguarding professional for this newly created role of Safeguarding Co-ordinator to start September 2022 (or sooner).

The successful candidate will be working together with the individual schools’ Designated Safeguarding Leads and Heads to support and sustain a safe and child-centred culture across all Thomas’s London Day Schools. The Safeguarding Co-ordinator will work closely with the pastoral teams in all schools, guiding and supporting their safeguarding and welfare work, leading on cross school safeguarding training and initiatives and helping to inform best practice in all areas of safeguarding.

As an experienced safeguarding professional the successful candidate will have a proven working knowledge of the current regulatory frameworks and have excellent communication and interpersonal skills to take a personal approach to matters which are often highly sensitive. The successful candidate will therefore need to possess the ability to demonstrate the utmost integrity, empathy, diplomacy and confidentiality at all times.

This is a non teaching role, ensuring that the post holder’s primary focus is on the day-to-day coordination of safeguarding across TLDS in support of the DSLs, the Senior Leadership Teams and the Heads.

Direct experience of the independent education sector is not essential and applications are encouraged from practitioners with public sector and charitable backgrounds.

A salary range of between £45,000 – £50,000 per annum is offered.
