Job Description

St Edward’s Oxford is looking for a well-qualified and experienced safeguarding professional to play a key role as Safeguarding Co-ordinator.

The Safeguarding Co-ordinator reports to the Director of Safeguarding and is responsible for managing the systems of safeguarding and for assisting the development of a proactive safeguarding culture for St Edward’s pupils and staff.

Alongside the Director of Safeguarding, the Safeguarding Co-ordinator will maintain and develop excellent working relationships with external agencies (e.g. ESAT, LADO, Children’s Social Care, Police, CAMHS).

The Safeguarding Co-ordinator will also work closely with the Pastoral Management Team to ensure a co-ordinated and holistic approach to safeguarding, casework, compliance and record keeping.

The successful candidate will need relevant experience in a safeguarding role, ideally within an education or public sector environment (e.g. police, NHS, LADO, ESAT) with excellent working knowledge of safeguarding and related practices.

Up-to-date knowledge of relevant safeguarding regulatory guidance is equally important.
