📣A bit about the role

You don’t need any prior knowledge of rowing, your principal purpose is to support the management and investigation of safeguarding cases and provide advice to club welfare officers. The role will involve working proactively with colleagues, club welfare officers, coaches, officials, and other key partners. You’ll also be involved in ensuring British Rowing safeguarding policies and procedures are implemented and promoted, as well as upholding best safeguarding practice across the rowing community. Your location in this role will be hybrid and consist both of working from home but you’ll also need to be able to travel from time to time to our Headquarters in Hammersmith, and also to other rowing clubs across England.

British Rowing’s Safeguarding and Integrity Team consists of the Head of Governance Safeguarding and Integrity who manages the Lead Safeguarding Officer, Safeguarding and Integrity Case Officer and Safeguarding and Integrity Education Officer. We are excited to be recruiting for an additional safeguarding case officer to join this small, supportive, dynamic, and knowledgeable team.

👋 A bit about you

You will be able to take initiative, have excellent analysis and problem-solving skills and be able to source and collect evidence from a range of sources, and make recommendations for next steps. You should also be able to collect witness statements and be able to put people you are talking to at ease. We would like you to be able to demonstrate that you have had experience working in a similar safeguarding role in sport or education or other relevant work experience for 2+ years, or 1+ years work experience and a degree or HND in a related field. Given the nature of the area you should be able to work under pressure with conflicting deadlines and priorities and be able to effectively manage your workload.
