We are seeking a Safeguarding and Wellbeing Lead to work as part of the Safeguarding team in a senior capacity, to promote and oversee a whole College approach to enhancing the emotional health and wellbeing of students.
Your responsibilities will include to act as first point of contact for safeguarding concerns and to support vulnerable students and adults including young carers, students living independently, looked after students, care leavers and those at risk. The Safeguarding and Wellbeing Lead will proactively assess and review the strength of existing policies and procedures and lead in the production and implementation of new policies and systems.
The successful candidate will assist and advise staff across all divisions including safeguarding officers within the safeguarding team with any matters relating to safeguarding and wellbeing. As well as, promoting and building relationships with external agencies to continuously improve the College’s safeguarding and wellbeing offer, and you will keep up to date with current legislation, statutory and other guidance in relation to safeguarding, prevent, child and adult protection.
Ideally you will possess or be willing to work towards an appropriate degree. You will also have the experience of working in partnership with external agencies and the knowledge of best practice in the field of young people’s mental health.
The salary for this post is up to £33,326.
