Prospectus is delighted to work with CISV International as they seek an experienced, enthusiastic and highly motivated Safeguarding and Development Officer to join their International Office team. This position offers an exciting opportunity for personal and professional development in an international environment to support strengthening of CISV’s safeguarding and risk management capabilities. This is a full-time position (35 hours per week) – remote, UK based – reporting to the International Safeguarding and Risk Management Lead (ISRML).

This is a pivotal post to investigate Safeguarding related incidents, as well as responding to and supporting the Regional Risk Managers to address any non-direct safeguarding related Incidents. The Safeguarding and Development Officer will analyse IRF reports and will respond to safeguarding queries that come into the Safety Inbox. The post holder will contribute to the development of safeguarding training for both face to face and on-line delivery.

To be successful, you will have significant investigation experience, in particular, professional experience in safeguarding/child protection/incident management with evidence of investigation, operational and management experience. You will have experience of working in a volunteer environment and engaging and managing volunteers and you will be ‘hands on’, taking the lead on varied and sensitive caseloads. The ideal candidate will understand the safeguarding requirements of the Charity Commission and other statutory bodies and will have experience in managing and keeping case management and risk management systems and registers. You will have the ability to identify best practices in safeguarding and safeguarding protocols in the different global regions, as well as the ability to see the big picture and understand CISV in the global context.
