Job Description

We are looking for an experienced, compassionate, and innovative resilience professional to join our emergency planning team, to coordinate and shape the provision of emergency and business continuity management within Croydon Council and the wider borough.

You will deliver a programme which will develop and maximise our current arrangements and manage the programme for ensuring the Council, its partners and community remain resilient.

The post holder will ensure that the London local authority assurance framework relating to emergency planning is implemented within the Council and with response partners, including training and exercising, ensuring the authority meets the duties of the Civil Contingencies Act 2004. As well as being responsible for providing advice on emergency management and identifying opportunities to develop resilience within the authority and the local community.

Assessing risk and implementing appropriate plans and arrangements, this key position will also be fundamental in the Council’s response to emergency situations such as flooding, large fires and civil disturbance. You will also have a good understanding of ISO22301 relating to business continuity management and have experience in delivering business continuity programmes.
