Job Description

We are looking for passionate, energetic and aspirational individuals to work within our children’s home in Usk, Monmouthshire. Our home is located near the M4/A449 and is a three bed home for young people aged 11 to 16 years old with social, emotional and behavioural difficulties.

Would you like to inspire our young people and build your career at the same time?
Are you hard working and keen to help our young people achieve their full potential?

Our Residential Support Workers provide day to day care for our young people. This could include supporting them in activities, encouraging them to join local clubs, ensuring all health needs are met and supporting them with their education. Our Residential Support Workers are crucial to increasing the self-esteem of our young people and equipping them with the knowledge and ability to keep themselves safe.

Ideally, candidates will have some previous experience of supporting young people with additional needs in a residential environment.
It is an essential requirement of this role that applicants hold a full driving license.

To ensure the young people are cared for in a consistent manner, a rota system is in place which includes sleeping in duties and being away from home for a couple of days at a time. This provides the young people with the needed security and nurture they have often missed through their childhood. However whilst you are on shift the home will become a comfortable space for you as day to day living is very similar to that of your own home. All home comforts including meals are provided.
Being a part of a rota system then also means you have similar time to spend at home; which is a bonus.
