This role is home based with some travel required. To apply you must live in England only. We are particularly interested in candidates based in North or Central England.

Leonard Cheshire supports people with disabilities across the UK through our residential and supported living services and our employability programme, Change 100. As we go through a period of change across our organisation, we have developed an exciting new national role of National Safeguarding Manager that will report into our Head of Safeguarding.

About the role

The role requires a qualified social worker, with a proven track record of working in adult safeguarding environments. This post will provide an opportunity to work at a national level, supporting development of our safeguarding policy framework and contributing safeguarding insight and support to a range of safeguarding related concerns and incidents.

The successful candidate will have a strong track record in safeguarding adults and leading on safeguarding investigations, underpinned by a sound knowledge of the Mental Capacity Act for England and Wales and its associated requirements.

There is an expectation of travel in the UK for short periods of time to conduct safeguarding investigations or reviews, or to visit services where significant safeguarding concerns have been raised.
