ROLE SUMMARY

The aim of the EIS Mental Health Team is to promote and support positive mental health for all people operating across the UK High Performance System. This new role will ensure a dedicated focus on developing and maintaining a culture where everyone has the best opportunity to experience good mental health and wellbeing and that there is appropriate support for those experiencing mental health problems.

The Mental Health Lead role is intended to encourage consistency and quality of mental health support within World Class Programmes (WCPs).  It will act as a link between ‘on the ground’ support within WCPs and the EIS Mental Health Expert Panel’s system-wide perspective.

  • Support of WCP practitioners (e.g. Chief Medical Officers / Sport & Exercise Medical Doctors, Performance Psychologists, Performance Lifestyle Practitioners, etc.) on management of mental health concerns ‘in-house’ within WCPs
  • Support, manage and co-deliver Mental Health Awareness workshops and Mental Health Champion programmes within WCPs (where applicable)
  • N.B. it is not the intention for this role to deliver direct mental health interventions or care to athletes and support staff within WCPs
