Lead Child Protection & Safeguarding Officer
Start date: As soon as possible or 03 May 2021
Location: Hastings, East Sussex
Salary: Ark Support Scale 9, Pay Points 25 – 32 (£29,577 to £35,745) pro rata
Hours: Full-time – 36 hours per week, term time only plus 1 extra week
Contract: Permanent
Closing date: 9.00am, Tuesday 16 March 2021 (Interviews w/c 22 March 2021)

This is an exciting opportunity to join our growing academy in the very important role of Lead Child Protection and Safeguarding Officer. We are seeking an experienced, and enthusiastic individual who has a passionate commitment to the welfare of our students. The successful candidate will be responsible for the development and maintenance of existing safeguarding and child protection policies, training and procedures in line with national, statutory and Ark requirements under the leadership of the school’s DSL.

As the ideal candidate you will:
  • Experience of safeguarding, working with children/young people in education, social work, youth work, etc., particularly managing child protection cases and investigations
  • Have a resilient character and a strong personal drive
  • Experience of establishing effective relationships with children, their families, other stakeholders and the wider community
  • Be able to manage a high-volume workload & prioritise accordingly to meet deadlines
  • Detailed and authoritative knowledge of safeguarding and child protection
  • In-depth knowledge of the range of additional support/agencies which assist students
