Requirements
You will have an HNC in Social Services/Youth Work/ Working with Communities, or significant employability experience.
Responsibilities
The Corporate Services’ Youth Employability Service is part of Corporate Services and European Social Fund funded Dundee Employability Pathway and operates as an integral part of Dundee Partnership’s “Discover Work Service”.
The Corporate Services’ Youth Employability Service delivers support for job seekers and employers in the city. It encompasses a wide network of services delivered by a range of partners. Together, they form a collective approach to supporting people looking for work and employers alike. This post is part funded by the European Social Fund.
In line with the conditions of the ESF grant awarded to Dundee City Council, 100% of the post holder’s duties will be related to the ESF project the post is funded to deliver.
As part of the Youth Employability Service, Key Workers have a major role in reducing inactivity and developing employability skills in Dundee’s residents. The remit includes registering, assessing, supporting, and referring clients and also delivering a customised Employability Training programme to support clients progress in employment.
The Individual
You will have experience of supporting clients identify training needs and experience of inter-agency working and mentoring.
You will have good written and oral communication skills and excellent interpersonal skills.
This post is considered Regulated Work with Children and/or Protected Adults, under the Protection of Vulnerable Groups (Scotland) Act 2007. The preferred candidates will be required to join the PVG Scheme, or undergo a PVG Scheme update check, prior to a formal offer of employment being made by Dundee City Council.
