INCLUSION COORDINATOR AND DEPUTY DESIGNATED SAFEGUARDING LEAD

JOHN WHITGIFT ACADEMY, GRIMSBY 

Salary: Grade H Points 25 – 28

(£29,577 – £32,234 Full Time Equivalent) subject to pro rata  

Hours: 37 hours per week / Term Time only plus 5 days (39 weeks) / Permanent  

John Whitgift Academy are looking to appoint an Inclusion Coordinator and Deputy Designated Safeguarding Lead to join our academy in team in April 2021. The role will involve promoting a learning environment which supports high expectations. To lead the Inclusion team ensuring that student learning and achievement needs are met. To contribute to the effectiveness of the Inclusion team. To model the vision and values of the academy and the Trust. To receive and act on feedback to build on the strengths and improve personal performance within the academy systems. To communicate clear purpose and vision to the team and lead on all aspects of inclusion, including EAL and Gifted and Talented. To promote and safeguard the welfare of children and young people.

To be the Deputy Designated Safeguarding Lead (DSL) for the academy.

John Whitgift Academy is the highest performing academy in North East Lincolnshire and is in the top 4% of most improved academies in the country. Its student population is rapidly growing with numbers leaving in 2019 compared to those joining, increasing by 200%. Behaviour is good with a relentless focus upon learning, aspiration and in establishing quality effective relationships between students, staff and the local community. Outcomes in 2018 were above national average in all main categories and the academy is very fortunate to have exceptional facilities, such as swimming pools, an engineering base and a 220 seat private cinema.

The latest Ofsted report (March 2020) gave the academy Good in all categories and Good overall.
