Job Description

The Royal Botanic Gardens, Kew (RBG Kew) is a leading plant science institute, UNESCO World Heritage Site, and major visitor attraction. Our mission is to understand and protect plants and fungi for the well-being of people and the future of all life on Earth.

We are working to end the unprecedented extinction crisis and to help create a world where nature is protected, valued by all and managed sustainably. We will achieve these goals by drawing on our leading scientific research, unrivalled collections of plants and fungi, global network of partners, inspirational gardens at Kew and Wakehurst, and our 260 years of history.

Join us on our journey as protectors of the world’s plants and fungi.

Your in-depth experience and knowledge of safeguarding means that you will provide specialist advice to the organisation to ensure our procedures are robust and consistent, and that reported incidents are addressed swiftly and effectively. Working with colleagues in Science you will put in place procedures to manage safeguarding compliance and risks with our international work. You will be passionate about the importance of safeguarding and will ensure Kew maintains the highest possible standards and continues to promote a culture that keeps everyone safe from harm or abuse.

If you have what it takes to lead and implement safeguarding at Kew, we want to hear from you.

The salary will be £50,000 per annum (pro rata).
