Job Description

Based in Dundee Educational Psychology Service, St Ninian’s Primary School, you will work full time, 35 hours per week. One permanent post and one temporary post for one year are available.

Requirements

You will have a Post Graduate qualification in Educational Psychology and have pending or current registration with the HCPC as an educational psychologist.

Responsibilities

You will be responsible for undertaking work required within the terms of the remit of the psychological service as prescribed by statutory legislation, and will carry out these duties in accordance with the policies and procedures laid down by the Children and Families Service, the Educational Psychology Service and the Health and Care Professions Council. As a member of the Educational Psychology Service you will directly support the priorities in the Children and Families Service, with a particular focus on those who experience the greatest inequalities.

The Individual

You will have evidence of effective work with schools/families/partners and children, reflective practice and experience of participation in projects within psychological services.

You will also be effective in collaborative team working, with the ability to take the initiative, think strategically and be an effective planner and organiser. You will be a highly skilled communicator and presenter.

This post is considered Regulated Work with Children and/or Protected Adults, under the Protection of Vulnerable Groups (Scotland) Act 2007. The preferred candidates will be required to join the PVG Scheme or undergo a PVG Scheme update check prior to a formal offer of employment being made by Dundee City Council.
