We are seeking to appoint a highly skilled and dedicated Divisional Director of Children’s Services, who will work alongside the Director to continue to drive the improvements within the Children’s Safeguarding Service
Torbay Children’s Services are working with Ofsted and our Improvement Board to implement and sustain significant positive changes which will deliver a high quality service to families and children within the Bay. We have a motivated workforce, who are engaged with and support the direction that we are moving in. Recent new initiatives have been implemented to attract a number of high quality experienced permanent social workers to join the team and to retain and reward the existing workforce
You can be assured that you will have the full support of your Director, and Chief Executive as well as the Senior Leadership Team and Council Members.
You will need a proven background in a Local Authority social care environment, with a current Social Work England registration. You will be highly experienced in strategic leadership, and in all aspects of running a Safeguarding Service. In your role, you will be responsible for determining and delivering effective strategies to enhance the service, setting and upholding excellent practice standards and delivering high quality, safe, robust and measurable services.
Potential candidates joining Torbay will understand that we are in a recovery phase, you will, therefore, need to be highly practised, aware and proficient, have a great ability to influence quality and a proven ability to engage partners in our improvement journey. Torbay, whilst being at the heart of the English Riviera, has significant economic and social issues, along with high levels of deprivation.
