Blackpool is a national icon and is now home to one of the most exciting agendas in modern Local Government. Improved outcomes for children are at the heart of our ambition. We believe that every child in Blackpool should be happy, healthy, and safe, go to a good school, get a good job, have a voice, and be listened to.
Children, parents, carers, and professionals developed this vision for Blackpool, and the way we work together as a partnership to deliver it was developed using real and meaningful co-production. They call our bespoke model of practice “Blackpool Families Rock” and it drives our whole approach across our town.
Through our Children’s Services improvement journey we have made brave and creative decisions to invest in the development of the services which make the biggest difference to children and young people’s chances in life, and to ensure that our practitioners have the support and space they need to build meaningful relationships that help families to make positive change. Children’s services in Blackpool have received investment of £24 million over the last four years and our corporate commitment to investment in the future of our children is unwavering.
We are now looking for an outstanding leader who can help us continue to drive forward our journey of improvement. You will demonstrate commitment, drive, and resilience and will share our passion and values; visible leadership and evidence of excellent partnership working are also essential attributes.
With an impressive track record of delivery, you will be committed to building a better future for the children and young people living in the town. You will lead and continue the transformation of children’s services and education by creating the conditions for others to perform and thrive.
In addition, you will play a crucial corporate role in ensuring that the needs and aspirations of our children continue to be met through the wider delivery of Blackpool’s unique regeneration agenda.
You’ll be joining us at a very exciting time for town and Council. You will be able to count on proven corporate and partner support in leading our ambitions for children and families in our ‘journey to good’.
Blackpool is a great place to work and live and evokes warmth, nostalgia and a strong emotional link to our communities lived experiences. With stunning beaches, world class attractions, a huge range of leisure activities and close proximity to picturesque villages there is something for all the family and we have a great relocation package, if required.
