We require a Deputy Designated Safeguarding Lead to join us as soon as possible.
In this role, you will offer professional support to students who are identified as children in need, as well as those at risk of exclusion, social services involvement or mental health difficulties. You’ll offer interventions to improve the capacity of students and their families through signposting families to direct parenting work, developing extended networks of support for students, and working alongside external agencies. Working closely with the wider Inclusion Team and the school community, you will provide specialist support to impact students’ development, attainment and general wellbeing.
Experience
To be successful, you will be educated to at least a GCSE C grade or above or have a level 2 qualification in English and Maths. You will also:
- be able to communicate effectively with students, parents and multi-agencies;
- work autonomously and as part of a team;
- have good organisation, time management, communication and interpersonal skills;
- have a knowledge and understanding of strategies to remove barriers to learning in young people;
- clearly understand the principles involved in giving advice and guidance to young people, including the place of confidentiality and sharing information;
- be able to work flexibly and find creative solutions to problems.
