Over recent years NHS Tayside has committed to increased investment in the Area Psychological Therapies Service. The Service now has a complement of around 160 clinical and applied staff with an additional 20 trainees.  Opportunity exists to combine a number of specialist posts to reflect career interests of suitable applicants. The Department provides a friendly, supportive and stimulating environment in which to work. Opportunities exist for involvement in teaching and research, taking advantage of close links with Universities of Dundee and Stirling. Members of the Department also contribute to the supervision and training of trainees on the Edinburgh/East and South of Scotland Clinical Teaching Course, the Universities of Stirling and Dundee MSc Course and the Child course.

Assistant Psychologist – Band 4

Perth Adult Psychological Therapies Service – Murray Royal, Perth

Clinical Health Psychology – Ryehill Health Centre, Dundee

Following allocation of Action 15 money we are in a position to recruit a full time Assistant Psychologist for 12 months.  The post will be split 2 days based in Perth where the main duties will be helping to co-ordinate the running of Survive and Thrive, a psychoeducational course for people who have experienced interpersonal complex trauma.  The remaining 3 days will be with the Clinical Health Psychology team who are based in Dundee….

Appointees will have successfully completed their undergraduate Psychology degree to a level of 2:1 or above and must be eligible for GBR.  Appointees will have regular access to clinical supervision and work under the guidance of experienced Clinical Psychologists and Clinical Associates.

Your performance must comply with the national “Mandatory Induction Standards for Healthcare Support Workers 2009” and with the Code of Conduct for Healthcare Support Workers
