Overview

We are looking for an imaginative, creative and enthusiastic Assistant Head of Home to work with our Head of Home at our Children’s Home in High Wycombe.

You will be responsible for the continuation and development of good practice according to the policies and guidelines of Buckinghamshire Council.

About the role

We want you to have an understanding of children and young people with complex needs. You should have a working knowledge on both issues of child protection and health and safety regulations and practice.

We want you to have the ability to use IT as well as demonstrate an understanding of the tasks and responsibilities that lie within the management of a children’s home. You will be involved in attending or chairing care planning meetings, reviews, case conferences and court dates as appropriate.

You will also be responsible for the management, development and supervision of a team of residential workers and the services they provide both inside and outside the establishment.

About you

We want you to have a:

  • Minimum of 2 years working with children
  • Working as part of a team.
  • Minimum of 2 years in residential work
  • Minimum of 1 year’s management including recruitment and selection of staff, and supervision and appraisal of staff
