Ambitions Academies Trust is seeking to appoint an outstanding individual to support student Safeguarding and Attendance across the Trust schools.

Ambitions Academies Trust was created in March 2012 and now operates with 6,100 students and 1000 members of staff.

Now in an exciting phase of growth and development under a new CEO, the Trust is seeking to reshape its school improvement offer, bringing on board new senior leaders with fresh ideas to take an innovative, best practice approach that shapes a new direction for the Trust.

The Assistant Director – Safeguarding and Attendance will support the to develop and implement the Trust’s safeguarding strategy, ensuring the delivery of a safe and secure environment for each school community and holding responsibility for all aspects of the welfare of all students across the Trust. They will also work with colleagues to tackle barriers to attendance for all students, but specifically the most vulnerable.

Core responsibilities for this role will include:

  • To lead on the development of Trust safeguarding policy and practice, ensuring that safeguarding continues to be effective.
  • To lead colleagues across all academies in their work to develop and improve standards of behaviour, academic progress, attainment and personal development through improved attendance.

This role requires an individual with significant recent and relevant experience. You should have a successful and proven track record safeguarding, with demonstrable impact.

Essential to the role is the ability to lead, challenge and inspire school leaders, securing buy-in for activities and initiatives, and communicating well with stakeholders at all levels.

You will have strong organisational skills, and demonstrate diligence, tenacity, enthusiasm, drive and self-motivation.
