The shift pattern for this position is Mon-Fri 9AM-5PM.
As an integral member of the multi-disciplinary team the post-holder will work in partnership with clinical teams demonstrating compassionate caring behaviours to fulfil the key functions of the inpatient ward/department. Responsible for the provision of therapeutic activity for Patients, contribution to Psychological Therapies provision model assessment, care planning, implementation and evaluation of nursing care programmes using a strength based recovery focused approach that demonstrates a person-centred approach.
In particular the post-holder will be responsible for the delivery and co-ordination of evidence based therapeutic activity for Patients within the ward. The post holder will contribute to aspects of a Person Centered Care Plan where defined goals are agreed for individual Patients and report on progress as indicated. The post holder will also contribute to the safe and effective delivery of low intensity Psychological Therapies, supported and supervised by inpatient Psychologist. You will contribute to the Psychological Therapies agenda and support the local steering group.
The support and education of other members of nursing staff within and out with their clinical area to deliver specific models of care and therapeutic interventions. He/she will provide a specialist service to a defined client group within adult mental health services. The supervision and teaching of staff, both qualified and unqualified will be an important aspect of the role as will the provision of support to nurses undergoing basic or post-basic training. There is an expectation that the post-holder will teach in academic settings to students and academic staff relative to the specialist service that he/she provides.
The post holder will support aspects of policy implementation and changes to practice such as introduction of Continuous Intervention Policy. The post holder will be responsible for the support and supervision of Therapeutic Activity Healthcare Support Worker.
