This webinar highlights best practice recommendations when working with your Local Authority Designated Officer (LADO) and focuses on some key areas to update and inform your practice.
Training topics will include:
- The role of the Local Authority Designated Officer (LADO)
- The allegations harms threshold with case study
- Analysing low-level-concerns: when should I consult the LADO
- Working together to effectively and safely sequence HR decisions.
Learning outcomes:
By the end of the session, participants will be able to:
- Enhance understanding of the LADO role and responsibilities
- Refresh understanding of allegations harms threshold using case study examples
- Consider how to analyse low-level-concerns and improve confidence on when to seek LADO consultation
- Improved focus on sequencing of HR functions to effectively work in partnership and maintain safety through formal allegations investigations and implementation of internal HR decisions.
Speaker:

Liz has 25 years of teaching experience, where she has worked in a range of settings in the UK and in Australia. Liz has twice been a Head of Science, but for most of her career has been heavily involved in pastoral care. Liz has worked for the past 13 years at Rugby School, where she was a boarding Housemistress for ten years and now serves on the senior management team as the Head of Safeguarding. Liz is currently studying for an MSc in Advanced Child Protection at the University of Birmingham.
