Webinar: the role of DSL and DDSL in 2021 and beyond
14th January 2021 @ 11:00 AM - 12:00 PM
The role of Designated Safeguarding Lead (DSL) and Deputy Designated Safeguarding Lead (DDSL), Designated Safeguarding Officer (DSO) or Child Protection Lead is a position that every organisation that works with children and young people needs to have. This person is responsible for promoting the safety and wellbeing of the young people within your organisation.
This webinar will go over the core responsibilities within the role of DSL/DSO/CPL, including responding to possible concerns but will also consider how the role is developing as safeguarding and child protection becomes more culturally developed in organisations and the risks to children and young people are recognised more widely by society. 2020 has seen a marked increase in engagement via virtual platforms in response to COVID-19 and has also highlighted pressures at home and on individuals’ mental health so the webinar will also consider looking after yourself and addressing the shift to virtual safeguarding concerns.
Audience:
All organisations that work with children and young people should have a DSL, or equivalent. This webinar therefore is suitable for delegates from all organisations.
Training aims:
