Group Supervision for Safeguarding Professionals

SACPA’s group supervision sessions are designed to foster a stable, supportive, and reflective community of practice among safeguarding professionals. Each group includes 4–8 participants who meet regularly to share experiences, explore challenges, and develop their safeguarding knowledge and skills in a safe, structured environment.

Group supervision encourages professional growth, strengthens reflective practice, and promotes resilience by enabling participants to draw on collective insights and expertise.

Programme Structure:

  • A series of six 1-hour group supervision sessions, held monthly
  • Facilitated by an experienced safeguarding professional
  • Focused on peer learning, reflection, and real-world case discussions

How SACPA group safeguarding supervision works:

  • Participants commit to attending all six sessions to build trust and continuity
  • A short initial planning meeting will be held to establish the group’s supervision contract
  • Together, the group will agree on:
    • Preferred models of supervision
    • Working agreements and expectations
    • Boundaries for confidentiality and respectful dialogue

These sessions are particularly beneficial for Designated Safeguarding Leads, deputies, safeguarding managers, and those with regular safeguarding responsibilities across education, health, youth services, or care settings.
