Course outline:

Is your Single Central Record (SCR) fully compliant?

All schools and colleges are required to maintain a SCR in accordance with statutory guidance and relevant legislation. However, common issues such as inaccuracies and missing information continue to pose compliance risks, often leading to poor inspection outcomes and negative safeguarding judgements.

This webinar is designed to support staff with operational or oversight responsibility for the SCR. It will provide practical advice and clarity on how to meet latest compliance requirements and maintain a robust and accurate record.

Training topics will include how long to retain relevant evidence, procedures for maintenance and auditing, and actions to take when a staff member or volunteer is found unsuitable.

Learning outcomes:

  • Gain an understanding of key legislation and statutory guidance related to the SCR
  • Learn how to develop a comprehensive checklist for compliance audits
  • Understand best-practice procedures for maintaining and checking the SCR
  • Know what to review and record when a staff member’s or volunteer’s suitability changes

Unable to attend live? A post-webinar recording will be available. Email info@sacpa.org.uk to purchase.
