Course outline:

This webinar builds on existing Prevent training, offering a deeper exploration of how individuals and groups groom and influence others. It examines both direct methods and the use of misinformation across a range of online platforms.

Participants will gain up-to-date insights into the tactics used to target and draw vulnerable individuals into harmful networks, while also considering effective safeguarding responses to prevent, deter, and support those affected.

Training topics will include:

• The nature and scale of individuals and groups grooming children, young people, and vulnerable individuals online
• The use of online platforms, direct engagement, and misinformation in grooming and radicalisation
• Current research evidence, emerging trends, and future risks

Learning outcomes:

• Build on their Prevent training with the latest research in safeguarding practice
• Understand current grooming tactics and how vulnerable individuals are targeted
• Identify and apply appropriate safeguarding responses to prevent harm, deter perpetrators, and support those affected
