Course outline:

This webinar provides a brief overview of the safeguarding review process.  It highlights some key areas for consideration when developing systems and processes in preparation to conduct or commission a range of safeguarding reviews.  Delegates will feel more prepared to identify and deliver the most appropriate level of incident review and disseminate learning.

Training topics will include:

  • Explore the range and types of safeguarding incident review
  • Considerations in setting up a system of thresholds and criteria to identify the need for internal review
  • Identify some different models of review
  • Establish when external review and assurance should be considered
  • Highlight parameters of working with other agencies, third parties, and managing dissemination around learning from review.

Learning outcomes:

  • Increase knowledge and awareness of different forms of appropriate and proportionate safeguarding review
  • Improve and develop systems and processes that identify levels of review
  • Feel confident about commissioning external review
  • Be secure in the parameters of working with others and disseminating learning
