(Basic Salary £38,697 – £46,185 per annum + £3,000 Retention Bonus)

An exciting opportunity has arisen in our Adult Safeguarding Team. We are looking for a senior practitioner who is a qualified Social Worker to work in this highly skilled team.

You will be working with Adults who have been referred to the team due to concerns about safeguarding. You will be expected to cover safeguarding duty; complete initial information gathering and signpost when concerns are received; complete s42 safeguarding enquiries and participate in safeguarding strategy meetings. You will work closely with colleagues in other departments and wider agencies in order to safeguard vulnerable adults.

You will become part of a very stable, award winning team, where we provide the opportunity for you to grow and develop and join a very innovative and supportive service. The team is busy, but every case is different and you will be able to draw on a wealth of knowledge and experience from your safeguarding team members, as well as our wider specialist teams, such as our Transition to Adulthood Team, Complex Care Team and Adults and Older People Mental Health Teams.

We have adopted the Community Led Support Approach and all our teams work as one big team, in a person centred way, with the focus being on building on the strengths of the person and the community around them. You will also work alongside colleagues in Health, Community Services and Voluntary organisations. About the Council

We are home to some of the most exciting opportunities in the country. Our growth programme is possibly the largest and most ambitious in the country. £6 billion has already been invested by the private sector in Thurrock up to 2017, with 7,000 new jobs created and 1,170 new businesses coming to the borough, including leading ports and logistics centres, retail and creative industries.
