Vaccination as a Condition of Deployment (VCOD) for Healthcare Workers

Candidates offered a role with the Hertfordshire Partnership University NHS Foundation Trust , who are aged 18 and over and who will  have direct, face to face contact with service users as part of their role will be required to evidence that they have received a complete course of an approved COVID-19 vaccine, subject to limited exceptions, by no later than 1 April 2022. This will include front-line workers, as well as non-clinical workers not directly involved in patient care but who nevertheless may have direct, face to-face contact with patients, such as receptionists, ward clerks, porters and cleaners.

As head of Social care and Safeguarding, you will be required to work closely with other professional heads, providing strong leadership across the Trust. You will oversee the registration and competence of all social workers in the Trust, ensuring that social work plays a key part in the recovery of service users and support of carers. You will also take the lead in developing, monitoring, and sharing good professional practice to safeguard adults and children.

This post provides an opportunity to influence and innovative practice and policy, embracing new approaches to health and social care. You will enhance our vision for social care and work closely with our key partners.

The post holder will have a sound strategic understanding of both social care legislation and practice, and safeguarding priorities for children and adults, with a social care qualification and registration with the HCPC. Committed to ongoing social work professional development and the achievement of best practice, you will have experience at a senior management clinical level, including providing high level advice and support to colleagues.

The ability to communicate across a range of stakeholders to ensure that the Trust is at the vanguard of national best practice will be essential.
