The Role
As Lead for the NHSL Lanarkshire Infant Mental Health Service to develop strategic thinking and planning for and to coordinate, organise, provide, manage and maintain, the Infant Mental Health Service serving North and South Lanarkshire.
This post is for either a Consultant Clinical/Counselling Psychologist or a Consultant Child Psychotherapist.

What we’ll need you to bring
Minimum Qualifications – Psychology
To be eligible for Registration as a Chartered Clinical or Counselling Psychologist as per the requirements laid down by the British Psychological Society (BPS). That is,
EITHER
hold a post-graduate Doctorate in Clinical or Counselling Psychology, which includes academic, research and clinical components
OR
be granted statement of equivalence by the BPS with respect to qualifications gained overseas
OR
meet the requirements by having attained chartered status via the “grandfathering” route.
Minimum Qualifications – Psychotherapy
Doctoral level Child and Adolescent Psychotherapy qualification.
Membership of Association of Child Psychotherapists.
Eligibility for registration with the Professional Standards Association.
Experience
Substantial experience in assessment and therapeutic work with infants and their families.
Substantial experience and commitment to multi-disciplinary and multi-agency working in a multicultural context.
Substantial experience of working with complex cases including looked after infants and young children.
Substantial experience of exercising full clinical responsibility for patient care and treatment independently and within multidisciplinary and multiagency context.
Substantial experience of consulting with health care and other professionals.
Substantial experience of inter-agency working, and working with professional systems and networks.
Extensive experience of leadership and administration.
Proven ability to communicate effectively and clearly with patients, staff administrators and managers about highly complex and sensitive matters in situations of potential conflict or psychological/emotional pain and where mental health problems affect relationships.
Experience of supervision and management of other staff.
Experience in designing, planning and undertaking clinical research and/or service evaluation.
Evidence of continuous professional development in relation to infant mental health.
Please note for all vacancies where a driving licence is required this must be a full UK/EU/EEA licence.
It would be great if you also have
Relevant post qualification training in lead or management role
Relevant post qualification training for specialist clinical, research, professional teaching/supervision or other equivalent specialism
Substantial experience of providing clinical and service related supervision and consultation to qualified practitioners
Experience of representing a clinical service in local and/or national level
Experience of lead role in Clinical Service or Team
Experience working in a specialist Infant Mental Health Service or Under 5s Service
A highly developed knowledge and awareness of a wide range of infant mental health interventions and theories and their application
Knowledge of legislation in relation to infants, children and adults including child and adult protection procedures and policies
Knowledge of NHS, Social Care and Education Structures, and relevant national policies and frameworks
Knowledge around theory and practice of leadership and management
Knowledge and experience of policy design and implementation of service planning
Ability to demonstrate leadership and management skills including influencing, negotiating and reaching compromises in a manner which inspires confidence and respect from others at all levels within and out with the organisation
Ability to promote and maintain the profile of Infant Mental Health within the organisation and the wider health economy e.g. children’s services forums, early years’ providers, voluntary organisations
Excellent clinical supervision, teaching and training skills
Ability to teach and train others using a variety of complex multimedia materials suitable for presentations within public, professional and academic settings

Please note this is a part time post and the salary for this position will be pro-rata.
Location and Working Pattern
This role will be based in Buchanan Centre, Coatbridge.
The working pattern for this role Mon-Fri; 9:00-5:00 pro rata.
