An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Youth Support  Officer in the newly restructured Adolescent Safeguarding Team, currently based at Charles Babbage House, Orton Grove,  Enfield.  This is a multi  disciplinary team based alongside colleagues in the Children’s Specialist Support Service,  and works closely with partner agencies such as the Police Exploitation Team,  Education and Health colleagues.

The Adolescent Safeguarding Team will work directly with children and young people aged 10-17 (up to 18) where there are concerns arising from being at risk of exploitation. This includes Child Sexual Exploitation (CSE) Child Criminal Exploitation (CCE), trafficking and modern slavery. The team also works with young people at risk of coming into local authority care, including 16/17 year olds at risk of homelessness.

The objectives of the team are to ensure assess risk and provide robust safeguarding to young people. Also to work with young people and their families to prevent the need for them to come into Local Authority care.

There is regular supervision and support and good training opportunities. The successful candidate will be passionate about working with this client group and be able to engage and undertake direct one to one work with teenagers and young people. The role will also involve giving presentations on Child Exploitation (Criminal and Sexual) in schools, youth clubs, residential units and to other professionals.
