Salary: £23,350

After 3 month successful probation: £24,606

After 6 month successful probation: £28,019

Scope of the Role:

The scope of this role is to work as part of the Migrant Help Victims of Slavery Support Service team and to provide a professional support service to victims of trafficking and ensure a seamless service to clients. This includes the provision of support, advice and guidance in addition to providing assistance with the completion of any relevant support applications. There is a requirement that the post-holder will meet the changing local business needs and will re-prioritise work as necessary. The post-holder will work consistently to ensure the continuous local development of the support service; he/she will ensure that all advisory processes and procedures are efficient, professional and consistent at all times. The post holder is expected to contribute to the overall success of the Organisation in accordance with Migrant Help’s aims, objectives, vision and values.

The Requirements:

The successful post holder ideally will have experience (but not essential) working with clients who present complex needs, including mental health, substance mis-use and people in highly sensitive and emotionally challenging situations. The successful candidate will have demonstrable experience of providing information and advice within frontline operations, ideally having previously worked with, vulnerable individuals with complex needs, victims of trafficking and/or asylum seekers and refugees.

We are seeking a person who has the ability to manage a complex caseload, work under pressure whilst empathically working with people facing transition and uncertainty. Excellent listening, communication and IT skills in word processing, databases and spreadsheets is essential. The ideal candidate will exercise the ability to negotiate and liaise with other agencies on behalf of clients and have the ability to absorb complex written information and explain it to the client including the use of an interpreter.

The successful candidate will be expected to partake in the service’s on call system, providing 24/7 on call support for a week at a time, typically every 8 or 9 weeks.  On-call may require staff to attend work premises out of hours
