Contract Type: 37.5 hours per week, fixed term. Hours to be worked flexibly to meet the needs of the service.

Mental Health and Wellbeing Services provide support to tenants through the delivery of two distinct projects. HoME (Help on Managing Everything) which provides practical and emotional support to tenants, supporting them to maintain a successful tenancy. Building Resilience for a Better Home is a self-help service where tenants can receive up to nine one to one self-help sessions to better manage mild to moderate mental health issues which impact on their ability to maintain their tenancies.

The Job

Working closely with the Head of Practice and Participation, the Team Leader will ensure the achievement of high-quality services for people who use our services. The team leader will oversee the HoME and Building Resilience for a Better Home projects.

The Team Leader will provide day to day management, leadership, support and supervision to a team of staff. The Team Leader will have their own caseload of clients as part of Building Resilience for Better Homes project (averaging 18.75 hrs per week) and the remaining time will be spent undertaking line management responsibilities. The Team Leader will provide supported self-help sessions to tenants who are experiencing mild to moderate mental health issues which are having a negative impact on their ability to maintain their tenancies.

The Team Leader will also lead, motivate, support and supervise staff through regular planned meetings and support at other times to ensure the promotion of good practice and excellence within the team. In addition, the post holder will co-ordinate and monitor the day to day operation of services and be accountable for the management and development of the service ensuring compliance with all legislative and regulatory regulations.

About You

The successful candidate must be educated to degree level (or equivalent) in Psychology (or other relevant subject) with experience of approaches to self help techniques and/or CBT approach.

As this role involves the line management of a team of staff you must be able to demonstrate that you can lead, manage and motivate a team through regular planned meeting and support.

Additionally, you need to be able to demonstrate your knowledge of mental health self help resources and a commitment to their use. It is essential that you have prior knowledge of issues affecting people who are excluded and marginalized and have an ability to build equal and positive relationships with people. You must also have prior experience of facilitating training sessions and training development for this role.
