Dorset Healthcare Safeguarding Service have an exciting and challenging opportunity to join the safeguarding service within Dorset Healthcare and is looking for a Senior Administrator with excellent communication skills, a positive attitude and a good sense of humor to join its safeguarding service.

You will be working alongside professional safeguarding colleagues and other administrators within the service. The role is a unique opportunity to work within all work streams relating to the safeguarding duties across the Trust.

You will report to the Professional Safeguarding Lead and the Service Manager providing a wide range of activities including the scheduling of appointments, managing multiple calendars, ensuring regular communication with external stakeholders concerning the reporting of Safeguarding incidents. You will manage internal and external communication via the Safeguarding inbox the trust internal reporting system, escalate and respond to queries in a professional, courteous and timely manner ensuring open communication with all safeguarding partners externally and internally.

You will support the team in the completion of safeguarding reviews by ensuring they have access to all information systems in order to complete timely reports and submissions of findings and outcomes. You will support the Professional Lead with the dissemination of the recommendations from review and the lessons learnt to support the Trust to continuing achieving high quality care.

You will assist in gathering monthly and quarterly data including preparing reports, collation and analysis, to support the compliance with outcomes agreed with external safeguarding partners. Duties also include distribution of agendas, taking transcription and distribution of minutes/ action notes; you will follow up of action points arising from meetings. You will support the service updating the Trust Safeguarding intranet resources.

The Safeguarding Service provides safeguarding advice and support to all frontline staff, as well as working with a host of multi-agency partners in various multi-agency forums.

The successful applicant will be enthusiastic, self-motivated and hard-working. You will have good customer care skills, an excellent telephone manner, attention to detail, the ability to cope with complex tasks such as using a database which requires input, recording and preparing reports of data intelligence. You must be able to work accurately under pressure, whilst remaining calm and courteous and be able to work well as part of a team.

Employment in this post requires a Standard Disclosure and Barring Service (DBS) check. The DBS levies a charge of £23 and the Trust will recover this cost in instalments from your first 3 salary payments.
