Job Description

We are looking for a Senior Regulation Manager to work within our Accreditation team to independently accredit, quality assure and regulate approved Awarding Bodies and qualifications thereby safeguarding the interests of learners, employers, parents, funding bodies, providers and the Scottish Government.

The successful candidate will be required to lead, manage and co-ordinate a team of Regulation Managers and Regulation Officers. To contribute fully to the development of policy and strategy in relation to the regulation of awarding bodies and qualifications which meet the meet the needs of Scotland, both in relation to employers and to individuals. As a member of the Accreditation Coordination Group, ensure that only those submissions which meet the regulatory requirements are approved. In order to do this you must be able to demonstrate experience in the following specific duties:

  • Contributing to the development of policy and guidance relating to the regulatory requirements for qualifications and awarding bodies
  • Ensuring that there is consistency in interpretation of the regulatory requirements and ensuring consistency in standard audit and provider monitoring visit reports
  • Contributing to various committees to ensure compatibility with established criteria and consistency of decision making processes.

Additionally, you must be able to demonstrate the following skills and experience:

  • Providing accurate specialist and technical advice and guidance to key stakeholders and customers (internal and external) to ensure their needs are met
  • Contributing towards the organisation’s continuous improvement initiatives and ensuring personal and Regulatory team’s compliance with documented processes
  • Deputising for the Head of Service at external and Internal meetings with delegated autonomy for decision making.

Applicants, as a minimum, should be educated to SCQF Level 10 (Degree) and/or be able to demonstrate direct relevant experience for this role.
