Job Description

The Safer Communities Team in Ealing coordinates the borough’s partnership problem solving, ensuring swift and effective intervention and enforcement action is taken and that long-term initiatives are delivered to improve quality of life for all residents and protect the borough’s most vulnerable.

The team are looking for a result- focussed professional to work within the Safer Communities Team. The successful candidate will have experience of partnership working, risk management and problem solving.

Working within a fast-paced team with a demanding caseload and complex casework, you will be responsible for leading on initiatives as well as influencing and co-ordinating partnership solutions to community safety challenges and fulfilment of responsibilities across a geographical cluster. A sound understanding of related legislation and knowledge of intervention and enforcement tools are desirable attributes. Customer focus, a drive to achieve results, a curious mind with an investigative and conscientious approach and excellent communication skills are key.

Prospective candidates should have a proven record of delivering successful partnership outcomes and of applying creative problem-solving approaches; professionalism and a commitment to continual personal and team development are also expected. In addition to this, experience of negotiating, influencing and decision-making are key attributes. Also desirable is an awareness and understanding of contextual safeguarding, gangs and violence reduction initiatives. This role is subject to Ealing Council’s enhanced vetting process.

This role is deemed customer facing and as such you must have a command of spoken English which is sufficient to enable you to effectively perform the role. This requirement relates to Part 7 of the Immigration Act 2016.
