Safeguarding & Welfare Coordinator

Location: St Mary’s Stadium, Southampton (with up to 40% home working)

Hours: Full time, core hours 10:00-16:00 Mon-Fri with flexible start and finish times.

Please note there is a requirement to work some weekends and evenings, including match days and special events.

Contract Type: Permanent

Your next role

In this role you will work closely with the SFC Safeguarding team to ensure that Saints Foundation drive a proactive approach to safeguarding and support concerns raised. As our Safeguarding Lead you will support staff and beneficiaries with safeguarding and/or welfare issues, to ensure that everyone can produce their best results.

You’ll work with staff across the charity to ensure their wellbeing is supported, and lead the risk planning process in order to create positive experiences for all participants, whilst also being hands on with case management to ensure effective referrals, interventions and direct support when it’s needed.

Person Specification:

  • Experience of managing safeguarding reports and concerns in an education, community or care setting.
  • Steady and calm temperament, with the ability to prioritise multiple tasks and work under pressure.
  • Experience working with and championing the views of participants/pupils/beneficiaries and managing welfare concerns.
  • Proven ability to build relationships with staff across a team, providing support and guidance.
  • Experience in a development or pastoral setting, supporting the welfare of others.
