Role overview

Trigon Recruitment are recruiting for a leading National Charity who work within housing, drug and alcohol rehabilitation and homelessness. This role is to lead the Safeguarding development piece for the organisation and develop training and development for the delivery teams. You will have a comprehensive understanding of Safeguarding and have a clear idea how to create and roll out an organisation wide plan to raise awareness and deepen understanding of safeguarding. This role will require some National travel and 1 day per week will be in Bowburn.

Role responsibilities

Support the Head of L&D and the Executive Lead for Safeguarding in developing a positive safeguarding culture across the organisation through training and learning interventions.

Support the Head of L&D and Executive Lead for Safeguarding in determining the organisational approach to safeguarding training.

Lead on the development of a training strategy and comprehensive training programme to meet the safeguarding training requirements of our workforce in line with organisational strategy, L&D strategy and Safeguarding Policy

Design and deliver evidence based safeguarding learning and development interventions, with subject matter experts (SMEs), for all our workforce using a range of formats and media tailored to the unique learning and development needs of different audiences.

Design and deliver learning and development interventions related to safeguarding (e.g. domestic abuse) as/when required.

Contribute ideas and innovations as to how training is designed and delivered.

Take responsibility for quality assurance, ensuring training materials and documentation support training programmes and meet required standards.

Continuously review our safeguarding, and associated training, offers to ensure they remain relevant, current and meet the strategic requirements of the organisation.

Develop and utilise evaluation mechanisms to review the effectiveness, impact and quality of training and development resources and delivery

Keep up to date with relevant legislation and be the lead source of advice to the Executive Safeguarding Lead and Head of L&D on the impact of any changes on training provision.

Provide advice to the Executive Safeguarding Lead on areas of legislation which impact on the safeguarding practices and training needs of our workforce.

Support the Head of L&D to implement the outcomes of the Safeguarding Strategic Group to ensure the training meets the needs of the organisation and regulatory requirements.

Develop the annual national Safeguarding Training Calendar, including eLearning provision, aligned to our safeguarding and training policies and wider L&D Strategy.

Provide safeguarding training compliance reports, identifying trends across regions and organisation.

Lead a team of trainers to deliver effective evidence based safeguarding (and associated) induction and refresher training to a range of staff and stakeholders incorporating these into the mandatory training calendar.

Determine team resource to support the design and delivery of all face to face programmes and eLearning modules. 17.

Work with the L&D Co-ordinator to monitor safeguarding training activities across the regions to support managers in enabling all new starters to be fully compliant by the end of their probationary period.

Have experience line managing a team

Comprehensive knowledge of Safeguarding

A competent and experienced trainer

Able to attend Bowburn once a week

Strong IT skills

Good interpersonal skills

Willingness to travel on a national basis when required

A passion for safeguarding

Able to ensure all key messages relating to safeguarding are clearly communicated

Is up to date with all legislation and changes relating to safeguarding
