Full Job Description

UK Athletics (UKA), the National governing body for the premier Olympic sport of athletics has a vacancy for a Safeguarding Training Educatorto facilitate and support the delivery of training via 2-hour virtual classroom workshops, in order to ensure all coaches (and other personnel as required) are appropriately trained and signposted to support in Child Protection and Children in Need matters as required by local and national requirements. This includes all UKA and National procedures and policies.

The successful candidates will be an active member of the safeguarding educator team and represent UK Athletics in accordance with the Codes of Conduct at all times. They will represent UK Athletics policies and procedures in regards to Safeguarding matters raised while representing UK Athletics in the role of educating the wider workforce.

The candidate should have experience in and knowledge of:

  • Child Protection procedures, appropriate legislation, and national development/initiatives regarding safeguarding of children
  • Online virtual classroom facilitation skills

An understanding of grassroots and performance sport is desirable, although not essential.

The ideal candidate will be able to demonstrate:

  • Skills: Organisation and time management; co-working; Zoom workshop delivery; customer focus; communication; professionalism
  • Qualifications; teaching, tutor training, learning assistant
