Salary: £27,747 – £31,219 (per annum)
Contract Type: Permanent
Hours: 37 hours per week
Location: All Campuses (Crewe, Ellesmere Port and Chester)
This is an excellent opportunity for an innovative, committed, and driven leader to ensure effective safeguarding and welfare practice is adhered to, supporting some of the College’s most vulnerable learners, including cared for learners, young carers, learners who have a Team Around the Family Plan and learners who are subject to a Child in Need or Child Protection Plan.
Key Responsibilities:
- Act as the Deputy DSL for the College;
- To promote a positive and open culture of safeguarding throughout the College to ensure safeguarding is at the heart of everything we do;
- Support the development of Traumas Informed Practice across the College to meet learner needs;
- To act as the Deputy Designated Safeguarding Lead and work with the DSL and Assistant Principal for Learner Services on Safeguarding, Prevent and key safeguarding priorities such as Harmful Sexual Behaviours and Child-on-Child Abuse;
- Co-ordination of the College Counselling Provision (Learners); and
- Promoting safeguarding and welfare of learners.
Key Person Specification Requirements:
- Degree and / or a comparable professional qualification;
- GCSE Grade C (4/5) in Maths and English (or equivalent);
- Excellent knowledge of safeguarding;
- Experience of leading a team;
- Experience of working with external agencies and making safeguarding referrals;
- Ability to develop and maintain professional relationships;
- Ability to communicate at all levels;
- Excellent written and verbal communication; and
- Enhanced DBS check.
