SAFEGUARDING CO-ORDINATOR

To start as soon as possible

25-35 hours per week

Term time (35.2 weeks) plus 1 week

Salary £22,820 to £34,300 per annum inclusive

(FTE £39,360 to £42,270 pa incl)

We are seeking to appoint a Safeguarding Co-ordinator to support the Designated Safeguarding Lead in developing and implementing safeguarding policies, processes and arrangements in accordance with statutory guidance.

Reporting to the Deputy Head (DSL), the role holder will act as a source of expertise to staff, governors and parents on any area of safeguarding and will liaise with Surrey Children’s Services on safeguarding issues.

The successful candidate will have significant experience of working in a role within child safeguarding either for a local authority or in a school and will have an understanding of the full range of safeguarding issues faced by young people, the mechanisms which need to be in place and of recent developments in the safeguarding landscape.

They will demonstrate a sound working knowledge of all statutory and regulatory guidance in respect of safeguarding and of the process for making referrals to local authority social care, with a good knowledge of the work of statutory services and relevant agencies and how they contribute to safeguarding.

We are happy to consider a flexible working arrangement although the role will be based in school. Normal working hours can be between 25 and 35 hours per week Monday to Friday, during term time, plus one week each year.
