Safeguarding Officer, permanent career opportunity within the Social Housing Sector based in London and the Southeast. Working on a permanent basis, Monday to Friday, responsible for covering a region, the role is based on hybrid working, however you will need a Full UK Driving License and have access to your own vehicle (full expenses paid) for regional visits. Offered with an annual salary of £31500, plus some great employee benefits, this is a busy and highly rewarding role.

Your primary responsibilities will be to act as the First Point of Contact for all internal Safeguarding enquiries and referrals, aiming to positively contribute to the safeguarding and welfare of housing Service Users and internal staff. You will ensure that necessary action is taken to promote welfare, to protect others from harm, being accountable for decisions and taking action to have the best possible outcomes through advice and guidance on safeguarding matters to staff.

Naturally as a Safeguarding Officer, you will have previous safeguarding working experience gained from a Social Care background, working with local authorities, professional bodies, emergency services and wider protection agencies. You will need exceptionally high levels of verbal and written communication skills, be able to spot minor concerns before they become issues and offer remedial support through a wide range of professional contacts.

The role will include the responsibility on an operational day to day basis to promote safeguarding of young people and ensuring that a stable and secure environment is provided. Working closely with external links and local safeguarding teams bringing community expertise to the safeguarding strategy. To effectively conduct robust initial investigations of all child protection concerns raised by young people, their families, colleagues and/or external parties/professionals to legislative and best practice requirements. It is expected that the post holder will conduct evidence-based investigations and be empathetic towards the needs of our young people and staff concerned.

As Safeguarding Officer, you will liaise with the Quality Manager on operational matters that may lead to or impact on Safeguarding. You will help to coach, support, and develop staff understanding to ensure high standards of care, values, ethics, equality and diversity, policies and procedures, legislation and contractual requirements are met. Ensuring that all concerns and safeguarding information is logged and stored securely in line with GDPR and CRH Policies. To collate organisation wide information on any safeguarding matters, and to make referrals to the line manager.

You will have advanced working knowledge of MS Office (Outlook, Teams, and Word) for the completion of administration and communication, responsible for accurate reporting of highly sensitive and private data.
