The Role

Cottenham Village College has an exciting opportunity for a Safeguarding Officer to join their team!

As Safeguarding Officer plays a pivotal role in the day-to-day safeguarding and protection our students. From assessing of individual barriers to learning, to developing relationships with parents and external support networks, your work will be crucial in ensuring that our students have a positive and fulfilling experience at school.

As our Safeguarding Officer you will be:

  • Manage and maintain safeguarding protocols and systems at the academy.
  • Contribute to and participate in assessment to identify individual barriers to learning.
  • Identify need and develop appropriate strategies, options and alternatives to overcoming barriers to learning in conjunction with College staff, external agencies and parents or carers.
  • Ensure effective and rapid transfer of information within and across educational establishments

We are looking for individuals who have:

  • Knowledge of safeguarding policies, practices and procedures
  • Knowledge of recording and reporting disclosures
  • Experience of working with Safeguarding agencies reporting disclosures, allegations etc
  • Successful and demonstrable experience of dealing with a range of pastoral issues
